Texada Island Airport
Known officially as YGB (Gillies Bay), Texada Airport features a well-maintained 75’ x 3,000’ paved runway, with paved taxiway and apron. The fee for overnight aircraft parking is $5.50 per night, which is collected by the airport’s full-time caretaker. The caretaker’s phone is 604-486-7268. There are several camping sites right at the airport, each with a picnic bench and a fire pit. If your group wants to do some sight-seeing and enjoy a meal, phone Texada Island Inn at 604-486-7711 for group transportation and dining arrangements. The Inn also offers comfortable and affordable overnight accommodation.Safety notes:
1) Texada Airport does not have runway lights, fuel services, or a control tower, so limit your use of the facility to daylight hours only, under visual flight rules.
2) Restrictions may apply when landing or taking off over nearby Texada Quarrying. See the appropriate Pilot's Notice for more information about Texada Airport.
